Shichis are long-haired, cute, little crosses of the Shih Tzu and the Chihuahua. These designer dogs are affectionate, though also known to be aggressive. However, their characteristics and the intensities of behavioral traits primarily depend on the dominant genes. This also holds good for the long/short coat type a shichi will inherit. If the Chihuahua parent of the puppy had short hair, it is likely to produce a combination of short hair with wisps of longer ones, or possibly the reverse.
These dogs can have erect fox-like ears like the Chihuahua, or floppy ones like those of the Shih Tzu. Their roundish face is studded with dark, almond-shaped eyes, a black muzzle, overflowing with childlike expressions.
